Empowering! This book taught me why money can be taboo, stressful and mind-boggling, when it’s only a tool that can better our lives! It provided a different way of thinking; to face a struggle I couldn’t afford and make it a challenge I wanted to overcome. I felt like the author was talking directly to me, saying, “calm down and we’ll figure this out.”

This book is aimed at debunking the myths that prevent people from achieving their wealth goals. And the first myth that needs to be bashed is that financial advisors are only for the very rich. From his baby steps to the cash envelope system to dealing with financial emergencies to why insurance is so important, this book gave me so many helpful nuggets, I felt like it was raining gold! He gave me hope, showed me I was not alone, and explained, in detail, direct action steps I could use in my own life! The lessons I’ve learned from his books, radio show and Financial Peace University are invaluable!
As someone who was completely stuck in the “poor mindset” for more years than I care to remember, this book was an eye opener! A poor mindset leads us to fear money, while the millionaire mindset teaches us to use it for a better quality of life. Now, I feel more confident facing money challenges and utilizing the tools available to anyone who wants to get ahead, both financially and professionally. My reaction when finishing the book was “wow! I’ve GOT to read that again!”
This is the first personal finance book I ever read. It’s the one that motivated me to not only understand my financial life but own it! Being new to budgeting, I was only trying to get our spending under control and pay down debt. There was a monthly plan, but nothing long-term and we felt like we’d never get out of debt. This book taught me a better way to handle debt and a faster method to pay it off. The process lit a fire in me to learn more about personal money management, and I am forever grateful! If you’re looking for the light at the end of your tunnel, this book is the first flicker!
A life-changer! This book taught me how to prepare for non-monthly expenses (oil changes, car registration, annual subscriptions) and break them down to save over time, instead of coming up with a big chunk of money all at once. It also taught me how to use YNAB, a great budgeting app that has saved countless hours and stress that used to come from budgeting and tracking expenses on paper and spares the hassle of juggling multiple savings accounts. Thanks to the book and app, I’ve become a die-hard budgeter! It’s a hobby now, and my money likes me much better! I recommend this book to anyone who’s looking to simplify their finances and cut the stress of managing your money! This book is like a favorite movie I can watch over and over. I’ve read it at least 5 times already!
